Aldi Christmas on Endless Table
Posted in: AnimationAldi UK is running “Endless Table”, a Christmas advert splicing together Christmas Day diners from across the world. The advert opens with a family enjoying Christmas food around a table, then seamlessly links to other groups of people around the globe enjoying food and drink available from Aldi. It also features a cameo from Jean Jones, the pensioner from Darlington who has starred in a number of commercials for Aldi including the Gin adverts and the 2011 Tea Commercial. Jools Holland makes his appearance towards the end of the advert playing his music on a black grand piano, accompanied by his band. “Whether it’s our award-winning products, everyday low prices or full range of Christmas food, drink and gifts, everyone’s coming to Aldi this Christmas.”

The Aldi Christmas campaign was developed at McCann Manchester with executive creative director Dave Price, creative director Neil Lancaster, Mick Craven and Gary Delaporte, head of TV production Lucy Moore, producer Abby Moore, managing partner Simon Buchanan, account manager Hana Sadat and account director Laura McKinlay.
Filming was shot by director Lucy Blakstad via Another Film Company with director of photography Stephen Keith Roach and producer George Saunders.
Editor was Amanda James at Final Cut. VFX was produced at Big Buoy by producers Jordan Andreopoulos and Chloe Saunders.
Music, “Merry Christmas”, is performed by pianist and bandleader Jools Holland.

12:00 – Why did you decide you wanted to be a director? Chan: “As an actor you can’t always do what you want,” “I’m not Bruce Lee,” “I want to be myself.”
