When I was in the states last year I stumbled upon an enjoyable little television programme called Infomania, that was being broadcast on an even littler network called Current TV.
Founded in 2005 by Al Gore, the network felt a bit like what would happen if the Hungry Beast kids were given their own channel (in a good way). The Emmy and Peabody award winning channel was thrust into the spotlight earlier this year with the announcement that Keith Olbermann would join the network.
Along with the arrival of Keith came a refreshed look and a brand new logo. The old logo was pretty ordinary and didn’t really say much. The new look however is simply stunning – and works just as well static or animated. It’s a truly unique channel, now with the branding to match.

that go and Brite Futures: “Too Young to Kill”

That go and Brite Futures’ “Too Young to Kill,” a music video sure to make you look more than twice. The number of scene/wardrobe/makeup changes would make any assistant director cringe!
There are certain moments where the video begins to feel repetitive, but that’s the trick that director Noel Paul used. Just as you begin feel a loop similar to three frames, he adds a twist at the end of each shot. The match cuts are a simple, nice touch that makes this music video interesting from beginning to end.

Nexus Interactive Arts: Quayola ~ Strata #4
Posted in: art, audio design, cg, Design, event, vfxQuayola, a London based artist, has created a new multi-screen video-installation premiering on October 7-9, 2011 at the renowned Palais des Beaux Arts in Lille, France’s second museum after the Louvre, as the opening of their 2011-2012 season. Strata #4 is part of his on-going series of films, prints and site-specific installations for the project devised to challenge accepted perceptions of classical art, architecture and iconography. Quayola strips away outer layers of dramatic symbolism from masterpieces and explores the world beneath their figurative skins.
Quayola is screening Strata #3 in Ottawa tomorrow Sept 21 – 25 at the Ottawa International Animation Festival.
You can watch a great interview of Quayola on The Creators Project and get behind-the-scenes info here.
