Texture Speckle

I’m not sure how to word what is going on but I’ll try. I have a large texture scene. The angle of the camera I think is causing one piece of geometry texture to not move concisely when animating. None of the geometry is moving, only the camera.

I tried moving the max samples from 2 to 4, but its not the problem. I checked to ensure its not the geometry or uv issues. Not it.

It’s only one piece so I don’t know. I need this angle. I’m unsure what is going on.

Por favor ayuda

*Its not like banding or speckling really, more like the texture moves some when animated. It’s weird.

Apple ProRes not an option in write node in nuke 6.3

I’m wondering if I need to install something to get Apple ProRes again as an option in the write node in nuke 6.3?

I was writing to my scripts in nuke 6.2 with Apple ProRes cause it seems like the best option for me for work with my footage in FCPX without having to transcode it again (FCPX transcodes everything to Apple ProRes).

Now in nuke 6.3 apple proRes ain’t an option and I’m wondering why?

I’m writing out to Animation .mov’s right now but I’d rather go straight to ProRes.

Any ideas how to write to ProRes again in nuke 6.3?

thanks

Best way to view image during spill suppress?

Hey guys,

I seem to have a lot of trouble seeing the more subtle green spill during suppression that other people can see quite easily :/ I think I might have a slight bit of color blindness which seems to put me at a disadvantage during spill suppression 🙁 Is there a way to view footage in a way to make it easy to spill suppress? Like viewing everything except shades of green in black and white or something at all that will make it easier? Strengthening the greens temporarily till I spill suppress?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Voodoo to Maya

I’ve tracked an image sequence in Voodoo, and saved it as Maya File (.ma) and a .txt file. When I open it in Maya, there is all the green track points. However, I don’t know how you see the image sequence, it seems like only the track points were exported. Does anyone know how you get the image sequence to show in Maya on the 3D grid with the trackpoints?

expression to limit random value between 0.8 to 1.3 for flickering effetcs….

I want to influence a fade node to flicker slightly. I am trying to write an expression for my CC node gain that will generate this by randomly setting the value between 0.8 to 1.3

I hope this is clear.

Thanks in advance…:):)

Particle Turbulence Evolve?

Mac ‘n’ Cheese: Full Movie

A while back we posted a short teaser for Mac ‘n” Cheese … now the full length film is online. “Mac ‘n’ Cheese is an animated short directed and created by four students at the Utrecht School of Arts in the Netherlands. This roughly two minute animation took about five months to make, and […]

Image area not acting as expected.

So I have a plate that is 4480×1920, and I try to comp in an image that is 2240×960. It is to be comped in the background & out of focus, distorted etc, and subject to the larger image’s alpha. Easy enough.

But, I attach both images to a Merge(over) node and find that the image area now only displays a small part of the 2240×1920 image, it’s like the image is cropped to the size of the smaller image. I try to set the Merge node to accept metadata from the larger image (which is input A), but I don’t see any effect.

It’s this kind of annoyance that’s making it difficult to "simply work" as I did in Shake. Reading the Nuke documentation seems to imply that I’m already doing what I need to, but obviously I’m not. Anyone know what I’m talking about and have any common knowledge to impart? 🙂

Kindest regards
