Matchmove Artist
§ Location: Vancouver
§ Open Positions: 1
Summary of the Role
The Matchmove Artist is a criticial role, which is ultimately responsible for replicating the camera motion from a live action plate. Without this role, we couldnt create what we do!
General Duties and Responsibilities
§ Tracking both camera and objects to match live-action footage in a 3D environment
§ Maintaining consistent shot quality
§ Working with the Art Lead to define any specific Matchmove tools required and identify any additions or modifications to our existing toolset
Qualifications
§ Minimum 6 month Matchmove experience in a large feature-film VFX production environment
§ Strong understanding of 3d + perspective and 3d packages
§ Understanding of one or more of the following: PFTrack, PFMatchit , and/or SynthEyes
§ Experience with Maya and Silhouette is an asset
§ Knowledge of Nuke and tracking in Nuke is an advantage
§ Must be able to model and manipulate geometry for scene reconstruction and to aid tracking
§ Candidates should demonstrate a good eye for detail and precision with strong problem-solving skill
§ Must have a solid understanding of camera moves and filming techniques
§ General understanding of Linux/Unix-based operating systems
