Searching for CGI Dinosaur Animators

I have been working on a Jurassic Park fan film for just under 3 years now, and we have finally filmed the last bit of footage we needed. I have had numerous animators over the past year and a number of them have quit on me (mutiple reasons, mainly down to them not having the time). I currently have one animator, Bruno (who created the 6 pack in JP dinosaur clones you can see on TurboSquid). He’s incredible – who’s knows the models better than him, right?

But I feel the workload may be too high for him, and I am in need of another animator to help Bruno along the way. I’ve delayed the film too much – I’ve set a date for next year and I would really like to see the film actually get completed. These 2 and a half years have to mean something.

Bruno’s dinosaurs work in 3DS Max. The animations created would need to be composited into the video I have and tracked if the camera moves. So far what I’ve seen from Bruno is just incredible – I’m sure there are others out there as skilled as him.

Anyway, if there is anybody interested please reply for more information or contact me seperately. The Jurassic Park community are awaiting this fan film.

If you would like to see some footage from the film so far, and a few update videos I have done, check them out on my YouTube page:

Thank you very much for reading and I hope somebody is interested. I didn’t want to discuss payment outloud but this is something that can be discussed separately. 🙂

Pro Juice TV Series – We want your work!!

Hey Everyone,

We’re going into Pre-Production on the first TV series of Pro Juice and we need your help. We might be based in Melbourne but we’re looking to the world for both content and broadcasters. Check out below how you can be involved.

Animators/Designers/Editors

We’re looking for 12 animated stings to use throughout the series. What are stings? Well they can be anything you like. But basically they’re short (2-7 second) animations that we can use between segments to add some dynamism to the show and to show off the creative work of all you ‘guerrilla’ producers out there. We don’t mind if its 2D, 3D, stop motion or cut-out animation. So long as its original, fresh and very cool.

Music Videos

We’re on the lookout for 6 music videos to feature in the series. So if you’ve produced/directed/edited/animated a great music video lately, we want to see it. We want videos with great stories, striking visual effects, simple ideas or one-shot wonders.

Short Films / Experimental Works

We’re also on the lookout for 6 short films or experimental videos to feature in the series. So if you’ve produced/directed/edited/animated a great video lately, we want to see it. We want videos with great stories, striking visual effects, simple ideas or one-shot wonders…

What Else Do You Need To Know

For all the info you need and to check out Pro Juice online videos check out here:

Peace out.

Facility wide file name replace

I’m trying to set up a server side init.py file so all of our Nuke users can run scripts and find footage without it breaking on other systems. Were using all 3 operating systems.

I have no idea how to create the script but I have a feeling its something similar to this:

Code:

if nuke.env[WIN32] or nuke.env[WIN64]
        then replace /mnt/volumes/xsan/
                with //192.168.1.242/Xsan/
        else replace /Volumes/Xsan/
                with //192.168.1.242/Xsan/

if nuke.env[OSX]
        then replace //192.168.1.242/Xsan/
                with /Volumes/Xsan/
        else replace /mnt/volumes/xsan/
                with /Volumes/Xsan/

if nuke.env[LINUX]
        then replace //192.168.1.242/Xsan/
                with /mnt/volumes/xsan/
        else replace /Volumes/Xsan/
                with /mnt/volumes/xsan/

If anyone has some guidance it would be much appreciated.

A Forest

My python script for comping Nuke-maya passes

Strictly for newbies like me 🙂

Hello,

Just wrote a small script to comp Maya render passes into Nuke (refer to tutorial by Hugo at http://www.vfxtalk.com/forum/nuke-tu…ss-t19333.html)

My first try into scripting, please feel free to trash it. You can make it as a gizmo and run it. (some limitations documented in the file itself)

nuke dev group

Has anyone spotted a google group or forum for nuke tool/plugin developers? I found the "nukeuser" group but that’s much more geared toward the crowd using nuke without writing in your own functionality.
