update value evey frame

I am not quite sure what I am actually after … so I am having difficulties to to look/find anything. Maybe if I try explaining someone can give me a hint 🙂

I want to run a python script on every frame. Or feed it with some value on every frame. Updating the values live … or something like that.

For example when I hit play I want the size of a blur to be 1 on frame 1. Then on frame 2 the blur is 2. So the blur size equals the current frame.

As an expression this would be simple, but I don’t know how to do this in python.

If I do:
num = nuke.frame()
nuke.toNode(‘Blur1’).knob(‘size’).setValue(num)

Nuke then sets the size to the frame that I launch the script and keeps that value. How do I get it to update the value for every frame?

Any help appreciated
Cheers

Is there s tcl or pyhton command to reload all read nodes? Like the menue entry Edit -> Reload all.

Studios in NYC that use After Effects for VFX (Not Motion Graphics)

Hello,

I am looking for work in the NYC area, and am curious in vfx studios (not motion graphic ones) that use AE for visual effects. I know flame and other software is used alot in studios, but I am hearing that After Effects is as well! A list/ any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Thankyou,
Mike

Loyal Divide: Vision Vision

Drag and Drop render queue for OS X. . . (coming soon)

Just a little teaser and interest check for a simple little app I am working on. A drag and drop render queue system for After Effects, Maya, Nuke, and Shake, and possibly more in the future. (Any app that supports command line rendering should work).

Simply drag and drop multiple project files or scripts onto the droplet, even if they are of different types, and the app will automatically determine how to submit them and render them within Terminal in a queue. It will display clear messages in Terminal on which renders are currently active, when the started an finished, and even custom render finished sounds for when the queue is finished!

It really is a tool currently meant for local use on single workstations or as a tool to make multi-machine rendering easy to manage for individuals or small teams with multiple workstations. Just using built in screen sharing in OS X and a tool like this it should be extremely easy to manage renders across multiple systems.

More info and a demo video is coming soon. As I said, just wanted to see if this is something people would be interested in so feel free to post or contact me if this sounds good. It will likely be free but a lot of work went into this tool so if you happen to download this in the future don’t get stingy with those donations!

Learning Nuke and Keying in Nuke, any tips on this shot

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to get into Nuke more, as I used After Effects for most of my Keying and Roto and have taken classes on nuke from fxphd but trying to do some work on my own stuff as I go through the classes.

i am going throw the keying class in the First nuke class but cant seem to get a nice key for this shot. I know I could just use roto but I wanna see if I can key it first.

The main probably is the edges are very rough when I key, just looking for some suggestions on ways to tackle this in Nuke, Still getting used to the Node based layout .

change hue + sat on tracked green marker

Looking for help on the best way to tweak the colour of a green tracking marker. I’m using a tracker with the data linked via an expression to a paint/roto node which is isolating an area within a piece of footage of a green tracking marker which is then being removed by a MakerRemoval node. It’s doing an okay job, but I have a bit of green halo that I want to just remove the saturation and potentially hue as well to something more skin tone. I’m pretty new to nuke so not sure the best way to approach this. Cheers,
