Red Medusa for Hrusteam Snacks

Now, a quick return to the lo-fi, funny, flash animation genre, Red Medusa made these 40 spots for Hrusteam snacks, a brand that’s apparently owned by Pepsi.
Here’s my favourite two, but do check the rest of them out, and pick your own favourites! Sure to make a dull day pass quicker…!
It’s a shame I don’t read Russian, I would love to explore the Red Medusa site and actually understand what I’m reading…

Top Blacklist director, Pistachios, has partnered with with co-director Aaron Kisner and the Vital Voices Global Partnership to bring us The Story of Kakenya. The piece chronicles the real-life and inspiring story of Kakenya Ntaiya: a young girl who —throughout her childhood— escaped dogmatic African traditions toward women by pursuing a higher education and fulfilling her dream of becoming a teacher.

The style does not deviate too far the signature Pistachios aesthetic. The look is abstract, graphic, and sparse, which recalls the emblematic patterns and geometric taste of African design that has become globally acknowledged.

Help! Camera projection is not working right, actually Im not working right.

Camera 1 is the boujou camera imported.

Camera 3 is the girl’s camera for her 3D projection.

All layers in the scene project fine, such as for the fence and floor cards, and follow the camera as it should.

However the girls layer (card), is being projected by camera 1 and is distorting the angle as the camera tilts up at the end of the shot.

View the attached for details, how can I line it up so the girls layer follows the boujou camera, I dont really understand whats going on here.

In After Effects, I would auto orient the girls layer towards the camera, what do I do here?

Best particle generator plugin/program for compositing?

What do you think is the best particle generator plugin or program that already includes one. Also what do you think is the best work flow for composting smoke into footage. Would it be better to motion track in a 3d package like 3ds or Maya or would it be better to all the smoke in the composting program?

I’m trying to shoot this small war film and I’ve been watching alot of war footage on youtube and the thing you really see most in war is tons and tons of smoke and dust so I’m trying to do the same with my picture. Any advice about how to achieve this outside of my specific questions above is also welcome.

Blindfold music video

I’ve been trying to teach myself the fundamentals of film-making and visual effects by doing a couple of free music videos for local bands. This is the second one I’ve shot:

YouTube – ‘Listen’ by Hiding Giants

It was shot in and around London on my XL2, edited in Final Cut, and I did the most of the FX work in Commotion. That’s me driving the car by the way. I’m pretty pleased with how this turned out, There are 27 different FX shots – see if you can spot them all. It’s a lot more ambitious than my first one which had 6. You can see that one here:
