turn on ‘read’ mode of the write node.

Hi, i’m just confused , if i turn on ‘read’ mode in the ‘write’ node param, why does it still need the input, which mean if i disconnect input, it will turn blank. I’m thinking this mode should make the write node act like ‘read’ node, without need any input (as it become the source itself). I check old thread from this forum, it’s been said that it need to check up stream for the changes? but what changes? it doesn’t make any sense? if i turn on the ‘read’ mode, it means that i WANT to see whatever has been rendered , if i want to see changes (updated), then i suppose to turn it off , right?.

Do you guyz know any real reason about this behaviour? Also the fact that when trying to change the input while ‘read’ mode is on, doesn’t change anything ! In fact, it just need something (whatever) to hold as its input?? I’m confused, does anyone can give me good reason ???? Really i have no problem with my write node still connected to its input, but i’m just curious.

thanx
