Requirements to be flame artist?

hi everyone..i was wondering, what the requirements do we need to be a good flame artist? for example, do we need to learn other compositing software other than flame/inferno like After Effect, Nuke, etc or 3D software like Maya, Cinema 4D, etc. i need any suggestion..
