need some basics in VFX

i am a student of visual effects..i want to know some basic things in vfx like film standards.types of videos, pixel aspect ratio,frame aspect ration..etc..:confused: please help me out..these are very important for biginers like us,but i coud’nt find any notes about these things.. it wiil be usefull for all the vfx freshers..thanks in advance. 🙂
