Atari classics would now be at your wrist with the new Gameband Smartwatch

Wrist-wearable devices have been here for some time now. Errands for athletes might have been made easier, but now gamers can rejoice as well, as there is officially a Gameband now.

After a delay of almost a week, Gameband has finally been launched on Kickstarter along with its Atari wearable device. Just like a smartphone, this ‘smartwatch’ will allow gamers to play games wherever they please. The Gameband will come loaded with 20 of Atari’s classics like Pong, Breakout and Asteroids, which you can play on the go.

The wearable device comes in 3 variations, a simple black one, one in Atari’s classic Red and the last one is the Terraria version and each of them might offer something different. The black and the red one will sport the aforementioned Atari classics while the Terraria one would be infused with a mini-version of the indie title.

The watch works with a desktop app called PixelFurnace, which will assist you in carrying entire PC games in your device and play it on another PC by just plugging in.

Having all the $99 pieces sold, as a gratification, Kickstarter backers can get the watch for $149 while it will be sold at a retail price of $199.

‘Castlevania’ animated series to launch on Netflix this year

Out of a plethora of vampire-themed and horror-themed shows that probably skip your view, you’d want to take interest in this one. We are talking about Castlevania animated series whose first season will start streaming on Netflix this year. Though no specific date has been revealed, Netflix website lists that the season will consist of four, 30-minute episodes. Season Two will arrive in 2018.

Castlevania is originally a series of dark fantasy-themed action-adventure video games created and developed by Konami. The animated series are adapted from the video game franchise that focuses on Simon Belmont – a descendant of the Belmont clan, a family of vampire hunters – who travels to Dracula’s demonic castle to destroy him. Producer Adi Shankar confirmed that the show will be an adaptation of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, revolving around the same plot.

Adi Shankar is an American film producer and director, well-known for his dark and violent features. Known for films like Power/Rangers, Dredd, Punisher: Dirty Laundry and The Grey, Shankar said that the series will be R-rated because of the level of violence.

Shankar had dropped a few hints in 2016 saying that his in-progress work would be “dark, satirical.” However, no details on the plot and voice-cast are out yet.

On his FaceBook page, Shankar wrote under “BREAKING NEWS: Castlevania is a Netflix Original Series with Season 1 launching in 2017 and Season 2 in 2018. Furthermore, I personally guarantee that it will end the streak and be the western world’s first good video game adaptation.” He also mentioned that the series will be written by Warren Ellis, an author and comic-book writer, who has previously worked on Transmetropolita‘, Planetary, Global Frequency and many more.

The series will be executive produced by Shankar, Ellis, Kevin Kolde, and Fred Seibert, while the animation will be done by Frederator Studios.

Leo Burnett Toronto creative director Heather Chambers explains, “For years, women have done the majority of the cleaning. And even though today, more and more men are sharing in the responsibility, the thought of ‘there’s nothing sexier than a man who cleans’ still resonates for a lot of women”.

“Mr. Clean – both the man and his products – has always stood for toughness and versatility,” said Martin Hettich, Vice President of P&G Home Care North America. “In his first-ever Super Bowl spot, Mr. Clean is showing off his strong and sexy side, and hopefully even inspiring men across America to pick up a mop and bucket themselves”.

GoDaddy Internet Wants You

GoDaddy’s 2017 Super Bowl advertising campaign, “The Internet Wants You” marks the 18th Super Bowl commercial GoDaddy has aired, dating back to 2005. The 30 second “Good Morning” commercial introduces a character (played by Adam Carpenter) who personifies the Internet, and the idea that no one knows the Internet like GoDaddy. The thirty-second spot is a rollercoaster ride of Internet gags with a product payoff. At the heart of the long-term campaign is promotion for GoCentral, GoDaddy’s new service that combines a mobile-optimized website builder with an integrated set of marketing and e-commerce tools to help get people’s ideas noticed online.

During the Super Bowl game, “The Internet” and GoDaddy engaged with viewers in real-time on social media. The campaign goes beyond the game online and on television, as well as in social media, with Onion Labs at the Onion who will serve up their engaging brand of humor with “The Internet” in the months ahead.
