Eviivo 'My Way'

The Mill+ team was involved at every stage of this project, delivering a charming and wonderfully humorous piece of design, animation and music writing.

This collaboration was part of Animation Breakdown’s Free For All program at Cinefamily ( http://www.cinefamily.org/films/animation-breakdown-2014/ ). The mighty Paul Fraser ( http://paulfrasermusic.com ) created the amazing music track first, not knowing what imagery was to go with it. Participants turned in GIFs not knowing what would happen. Then I edited the GIFs to the music. So music was done BEFORE the edit, which if you think about it is kind of crazy but it magically came together (I think). List of GIF artists below. Grammy Effect for Lorde Royals Karaoke
Posted in: AnimationThe nominations are out for the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards, in preparation for the award show hosted in Los Angeles on February 8, 2015. This week on The Inspiration Room we’ll be featuring the five music video award nominations: We Exist by Arcade Fire, Turn Down For What by DJ Snake & Lil Jon, Chandelier by Sia, Happy by Pharrell Williams, The Golden Age by Woodkid Featuring Max Richter. Today, however, we start with the Grammy promotional music video, “Lorde & The Grammy Effect”, a lighthearted karaoke mix of Lorde’s award winning hit Royals. Being impersonated across the world is just part of the ripple effect started at the Grammys.

Arcade Fire We Exist
Posted in: AnimationArcade Fire track “We Exist”, off the album Reflektor, reflects on the realities of sexual and gender diversity. The music video stars Hollywood actor Andrew Garfield (Spiderman) playing the part of a young adult exploring transgender identity. After a distressing episode in a local bar the lead character is guided through a dream sequence to dance onstage at Arcade Fire’s Coachella concert. The music video is one of five nominations for Best Music Video at the 47th GRAMMY Awards being held on February 8, 2015.

Filming for the Arcade We Exist music video was shot for Capitol Records by director David Wilson with producer Jason Baum, executive producer Sue Yeon Ahn, director of photography Larkin Seiple, editor Thomas Grove Carter at Trim. Colorist was Simon Bourne at Framestore. VFX was by Munky and Chris Bristow. Sound was produced by Neil Johnson at Factory.
