The Shadow Campaign // Sanctuary

Heavy sun and low snow has left Valle Nevado ski area reduced to bare rock, a lost season. Lifts shut down and skiers flee towards Santiago in droves. Hot tubs and pisco prevail for the DPS crew. But one morning they awake to find condors filling the sky–scavenging to prepare for an oncoming storm. While the resort hunkers down and weathers the whiteout, they disappear into clouds that boil with a meter of snow. The desert becomes an ethereal sanctuary, dissolving into the sky. Interactive Installation "Chameleon“

With Sehsucht’s interactive installation “Chameleon“ the audience can modulate the characters and dive into a world between reality and virtuality. With the movement of hands and body the characters are brought to life and are given their own individual look and behaviour. “Chameleon” explores another perspective of distortion and creates a unique piece of art. There are no limits to the viewer’s creativity. Premiering at the Pictoplasma Conference 2014, “Chameleon“ adresses alienation and identity. It also raises the question of self-awareness and introspection in a world of post-privacy. 1940s Television: Mary Small sings two songs

Early television: a 1949 clip of Mary Small singing two songs, including the infamous “Tenement Symphony”. The lighting is pretty bad at times…keep in mind that “network TV” was only 3 years old at the time. I expect network radio had just as many problems when it was 3 years old.
