Using #LikeAGirl as an insult is a hard knock against any adolescent girl. And since the rest of puberty’s really no picnic either, it’s easy to see what a huge impact it can have on a girl’s self-confidence.
We’re kicking off an epic battle to make sure that girls everywhere keep their confidence throughout puberty and beyond, and making a start by showing them that doing it #LikeAGirl is an awesome thing.

“In my work as a documentarian, I have witnessed the confidence crisis among girls and the negative impact of stereotypes first-hand,” said Lauren Greenfield, filmmaker and director of the #LikeAGirl video. “When the words ‘like a girl’ are used to mean something bad, it is profoundly disempowering. I am proud to partner with Always to shed light on how this simple phrase can have a significant and long-lasting impact on girls and women. I am excited to be a part of the movement to redefine ‘like a girl’ into a positive affirmation.”

Glen Keane's Hand-drawn animation "Duet" displayed at Google I/O 2014


Glen Keane debuted his new hand-drawn short “Duet” at the Google I/O developer conference.

Glen Keane is an American animator, author and illustrator. Keane is best known for his character animation at Walt Disney Animation Studios for feature films including The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan, and Tangled

He produced “Duet” with Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects group.(ATAP). This is the third in Google’s series of Spotlight Stories that are designed to explore the possibilities of interactive animation on mobile devices.

Duet is the first traditionally animated, hand-drawn film to debut as a Spotlight Story.

Animated in its entirety and directed by Glen Keane, Duet tells the story of Mia and Tosh and how their individual paths in life weave together to create an inspired duet.

Duet will officially launch later this year and will be available on all capable devices with proper hardware capabilities and OS version higher than Android 4.2.
