"American Odyssey" – George Lucas Artsy Psychedelic Hero's Journey Short Film

“American Odyssey” is a colorful psychedelic adventure starring George and Marcia Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Francis Ford Coppola before they became the icons they are today; a story about following your bliss, and the filmmaker’s unending quest for inspiration. Our love letter to innovative filmmakers and films, from D.W. Griffith, Busby Berkeley, Georges Méliès, to the Wizard of OZ and so much more. An homage to the techniques and styles of experimental filmmaking, such as New Hollywood, French New Wave, cinema vérité, animation innovations by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks, 1920s surrealism, silent film, and classic boyhood sci-fi/adventure fantasies. Premiered May 17th, 2014 at the SOHO International Film Festival “American Odyssey” will be available on Vimeo until June 1st and will be re-released every May on Star Wars Day! “Like” our project on Facebook for more Star Wars and film history trivia and updates! http://facebook.com/AmericanOdysseyGL See more of our work at http://loftyentertainment.squarespace.com http://schemeengine.tumblr.com Check out the trippy GIF poster by John Jalandoni tinyurl.com/mzeuxsz Video Banner Graphic Designed by Linda Do Please “like” the video by clicking the heart icon and leave us a comment below! PROJECT 2501 : HOMAGE TO GHOST IN THE SHELL

www.gits2501.com A respectful homage to Shirow Masamune’s manga and Mamoru Oshii’s seminal film “Ghost in the Shell”, this is a modernized direction that still tries to stays true to the original creator’s vision. What started as a photo tribute directed by Ash Thorp and Tim Tadder (photography), soon became a worldwide collaboration of more than 20 artists from around the world, with each and everyone coming together to help breath life into the project, resulting in the artistic interpretation you see below. For a film that was a comment on the uber-connected society of the future, Project 2501 ended up being itself an example of how this collaborative group of creatives are so connected ourselves. Many of us never met beyond the communications provided by the vast and infinite net, but still came together to make the ultimate tribute to “Ghost in the Shell”. Everyone of us wanted the opportunity to pay homage to a ground-breaking film that gave us so much. We sincerely hope you enjoy our effort to capture the energy and beauty of the original film’s title sequence. 92 DREAMIN

92 DREAMIN directed by Mikhael Villegas and Escarla Abreu “In a parallel universe outside the realm of reality lies the home to all imagination. A place made entirely of skateboard dreams. Where linear fluid existence is disrupted by chaos and creativity. Where digital meets analog. A lawless limitless frontier.” 92 DREAMIN incorporates live action with 3D and VFX. With this project we hope to disrupt the linear fluidity expected in most video media. To incorporate multiple mediums and experimental methods into one. As artists we draw inspiration from the irregularity in our everyday lives and have manifested that sense of uneasiness in our piece. Thank you to everyone that helped make this film an idea to reality. ~CREDITS~ Directors // Mikhael Villegas, Escarla Abreu Producer // Julia Odle Skater // Cooper Winterson Editer // Mikhael Villegas Thesis Advisor // Brendan Gallagher 3D Direction // Escarla Abreu 3D Modeling // Escarla Abreu, Mikhael Villegas, Kwan Au Motion Capture & Animation // Escarla Abreu, Mikhael Villegas, Cody Hann Shading, Lighting & Rendering // Escarla Abreu Director Of Photography // Michael Williams, Mikhael Villegas Visual Effects Lead // Mikhael Villegas Roto // Mikhael Villegas, Pimentel, Jodelyne Arias Score // Com Truise Sound Design // Mikhael Villegas, Jack Caron, Chris Zack Special Thanks // Mom & Dad, Sister, John McIntosh, Manong Filino and Manang Lydia, Erik Montavano, Andreea Pricheea, Brendan Gallagher, Eran Dinur, Moe, Zoot Crew, BDN, Broski, Senior Lab Crew, Richard Hagen, Brian Frey, and Vic Fina. Cuba Skate

One of Cuba’s most creative skaters and surfers, Yojani Pérez Rivera reflects on how he and his amigos are #livingoffthewall to make the most of the little they have. Mamerto, as he’s known around the island, is among the most active local skaters advancing Cuba Skate’s mission. Cuba Skate, an NGO created by American skater Miles Jackson, is in the process of creating a documentary feature following the lives of Mamerto and his scrappy crew, 23yG, to rally the international skate community around its goals: 1. provide much needed skate materials to the Cuban youth 2. renovate the only, dilapidated skatepark in Havana 3. establish the first skate shop in Cuba and foster a bilateral educational exchange between Cuban and American skaters Winning Vans’ #LIVINGOFFTHEWALL Contest would help us make the Cuba Skate documentary a reality and share Mamerto and 23yG’s story with the world. Thanks for your consideration!
