getting the current node inside group nuke python

Hi all

I am facing the problem with getting selected node inside the group. If the selected node is main view i used nuke.selectedNode() but command is not working when the selected node inside the group. Ex: My selection node is "Write1" ie inside the "Group1->Group2" Then I want output as Group1.Group2.Write1.
In the render i use /usr/local/Nuke6.2v1/Nuke6.2 -X Group1.Group2.Write1 <scene name>.

thanks inadvance.

x,y from curve

Hi!
What should I do to return x,y from curve? I need numeric data for further operations. For example x,y coordinates from CornerPin.

Selecting or returning the node name

Hi,

Is there any specific way to return a node selected inside a group?

I’m able to select a node inside a group since I know the name of the group in which the node is.

But how do i do the reverse, like if i select a node inside a group – i want to find out which group it belongs to.

Thanks in advance.

Increasing Performance in Nuke 6.2v1

I’m having a problem with Nuke 6.2v1 where it is freezing up my Windows machine for a few minutes, and wanted to know if there is anything that can solve this

I have a Dell Precision T5500 workstation with 12-core Xeon processor and 24 GB RAM running Windows XP x64 SP2. I set the total paging file size to 24GB

The problem happens when Nuke is doing an operation and taking 23 MB of memory according to Windows Task Mgr, but I see the Virtual Memory size of the NUke 6.2 process to be 8 GB

Thanks

Before I start taking things seriously….

Hi all,

Im getting to the point where I am seriously considering getting some theory behind me in VFX by joining escape studios doing the maya core course and then the VFX course. (Mainly joining with them as they have awesome contacts in the industry and they’re also held in very high regard it seems)…

whichever way you look at it both of these courses are extremely expensive, even more so when you have a mortgage to pay. However, theres no way I am going to continue with my current career as a civil engineer when I love everything about VFX and will do anything to get on the vfx career ladder.

The only thing holding me back right now though is that for the life of me i cannot find anything concrete about salaries in this industry!!!

I understand I wont be earning a huge salary to start with but i would just like to know what it is I can expect in london with the above 2 courses behind me.

I know its not the done thing to talk about salaries but to make the move into the industry and actually fork out the 7k for those courses I really need to know that I’ll have the bills covered at the end of the day.

I’ve looked on VFX wages but would rather here from a real person, in the industry….

Many thanks guys!
