Sr. Stereo Compositor – Los Angeles

Senior Stereo Compositor

The Senior Stereo Compositor is responsible for combining live action and computer generated elements into visual effects shots and oversees others who combine elements to realize the vision and creative direction of the client, project leads, and stereographer.*

DESCRIPTION

Perform all tasks associated with the compositing process, matte extraction, layering of elements, and 2D and 3D tracking.
Ability to perform digital matte painting, texture painting, or paint.
Together with the stereographer evaluate the creative and technical approach for assigned shots.
Complete work within the schedule while maintaining constant communication with production team and other artists.
Ability to share techniques and mentor junior level talent.

REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of experience in the high-end feature film or commercial visual effects.
Demo reel required demonstrating strong artistic skills including knowledge of color, lighting, perspective, scale, and composition.
Traditional art portfolio demonstrating traditional art skills is a plus.
Experience with Maya or equivalent is a plus.
Stereo experience is a plus
Experience in a multi-platform environment is required.
Expert knowledge of Shake, Nuke or equivalent is required.
Completion of a formal education course in the Arts or Sciences.
Scripting or programming experience is a plus.

Production Coordinator – Post Production Los Angeles

Production Coordinator – Stereoscopic Conversion

Summary:
The Production Coordinator is responsible for the assignment and tracking
of tasks for assigned area of responsibility. Facilitates the movement of shots between teams, coordinates daily reviews, and communicates status updates to ensure the delivery of shots on schedule. Provides administrative support to the production management team and supervisors.

Responsibilities Include:
Under the guidance of the Production Supervisor, tracks progress of tasks for assigned artists or sequences in the production tracking system.
Maintains production tracking system with revisions, omits, and shot length changes; notifies the affected crew as needed.
Partners with other production personnel to ensure shots are scheduled and delivered in a timely manner.
Follows up with Artist Leads on a daily basis to ensure task deliveries remain on schedule; communicates any schedule changes to appropriate Artist Leads, Supervisors and Production team as needed.
Coordinates all client deliveries (outgoing and incoming), both physical deliveries and digital deliveries, with I/O Coordinator and maintains log of all deliveries.
Responsible for multiple dailies sessions each day, as well as client reviews.
Taking clear and accurate notes in all dailies and review sessions, and disseminating notes to all necessary parties and within production software.
Generates and maintains production reports; including nightly production updates for assigned projects.
Generally providing overall production support to the production management team.

Skills/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in film, art, communications or related field.
3+ years proven production experience in established VFX or feature animation facility.
Demonstrable experience in highly technical, dynamic departments is a must.
Experience with heavy schedule management in a very time sensitive atmosphere.
Must be diligent, resourceful, meticulous and able to thrive under pressure.
Thorough understanding of CG/VFX production pipelines, software packages and postproduction is essential.
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail coupled with exceptional people skills and the ability to work within a team environment.

Summary:
The Stereo Producer is responsible for overseeing teams of artists, production coordinators, production assistants, etc.; and the management of all aspects of our stereoscopic conversion workflow for feature film and other conversion projects working in conjunction with stereographers, production and executive management.

Responsibilities include:
Working with Studios, Vendors, Producers, Directors, Supervisors and Heads of Department in delivering both small and large-scale conversion projects.
Creating schedules, tracking progress and reporting project updates, planning reviews and assessing the progression of established project plans.
Maintaining production databases and communicating with other production teams in the shot planning processes.
Managing and tracking client feedback, notes, and requirements as they pertain to each project.
Providing information and support to the production management team.

  • Integrate cg elements and matte paintings into live action or CG Animated plates

  • Present work clearly in dailies and walkthroughs and respond to supervisor in a timely fashion

Requirements

  • Must have thorough knowledge and ability to use Nuke and Photoshop

Overall Purpose and Objective

The Elements/Delivery Coordinator provides support to the production team for Stereoscopic (3D) Conversion projects. This position is integral in the delivering and receiving of VFX elements, providing status updates and communicating between facilities, departments and clients, as well as deliver all content for feature productions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Production, Supervisors, Artists, and other necessary departments in tasks needed to deliver the project
  • Organizes and tracks all element files received from client with daily reports updating status
  • Maintains all information in a tracking database
  • Coordinates transfer of data between facilities, departments, and clients
  • Preps and packages up all files for delivery including all supporting documentation
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate delivery database
  • Works with production team to ensure shots are scheduled and delivered on time

Requirements

  • Must be highly organized with the ability to track and handle large amounts of data
  • Must be very detail oriented and recognize and communicate any discrepancies in file naming, frame counts, etc.
  • Proficient computer skills are required using Excel, Filemaker, Outlook
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to motivate within a team environment
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong understanding of VFX Production pipelines is a must
