python – how to update nuke.frame()

Hi , i create simple new panel subclass (inherit from PythonPanel class) with a button, so everytime the button is pressed , it will print current frame. i use : nuke.frame() to get the current frame . All is good until i got this problem: while the panel still open, then i move the frame slider to other frame , then press the button again, the value won’t update!…
so i have to close and reopen the panel to get the correct current frame value. It seems that the nuke.frame() is only executed once when the instance/obj is created, then it won’t get updated until i spawn new instance.

Texture gizmo problem

Ive never had any problem using the texture gizmo until I upgraded to realflow 5. Now my textures seem to slide through the mesh instead of deforming with it. The first frame is fine. Ive tried multiple simple setups and always the same result. Is something different in 5??

Motion vector vs roto Motion blur?

Hi all,

For mainly lazyness,
I always use the "Motion blur" on the Roto Node instead of MotionBlur2D

What’s the main difference between using the "motion blur" on the roto node or setting up the MotionBlur2D & vetor blur?

Am I missing the big picture?

after effects question ??

well …i made ma first composition and it wasn’t that good (u will also find it in the beginner’s talk section) and one user told me this "You should always do your compositing in a progressive environment. Deinterlace, work, then interlace afterwards as required" …..but i’m lost so how can i achieve what he said using after effects ?? or plz give me a tutorial link about it !!!

Keymix not Mixing

My Keymix doesn’t seem to be mixing my primattes- can someone plzzz tell me why asap?

**Edit**I’ve also tried switching the inputs and that doesn’t change anything- I’m only ever seeing my A key or my B key

2d / 3d conversion options

fbx import-export

i am trying to import a geometry from maya into nuke via fbx.but it isn’t taking the animation.
i have animated the vertices of the geometry, cud that be a problem,even tried baking the animation keys still won’t work.

i have a whole group of a character ,(head,body and 2 planes for hand)
when i export as a group, the animation in head and body(spheres) comes along but the planes stay as it is.(have animated the vertices in them),also tried exporting them,seperatly..no luck

cant figure out now how get the 2 animated planes as an animated geometry in nuke.

any suggestions..

Long render times

Hi ,

I have an exr file rendered with beauty passes of my background and foreground. I also have IDs rendered in seperate exrs as well.

When I combine all my layers in Nuke with color corrections and exposure fixes the file is fine on screen. But when I write to a proxy file it takes 7 hours!

I am not sure why it takes that long, all I have are exrs in beauty and IDs. The sequence is only 10 seconds long, and to preview or flip book it takes 7 hours @ 960 x 540 any ideas why?
